A Fair-Way to Great Value Fellowship
A platform to make contact
Enhancing Fellowship and Philanthropy through golf
Do you need to know more about SMiGS?
One of the great benefits of playing golf at Livery events is meeting like-minded individuals from other companies. Taking part in a golf day does however require a significant investment in money and time and may not always be practical, especially for those in full or part time employment or with significant family commitments. In addition to acting as a “clearing house” for formal Livery golf days, SMiGS would also like to act as a facilitator for individuals or small groups to meet informally to play at one of the 100+ golf clubs that we know Liverymen are members of.
We have created a technical space within a widely used, free-to-use software platform called “Spond” where individual liverymen can contact each other to look for or host an informal 2, 3 or 4 ball game at the member’s guest green fee rate or using reciprocal and county card arrangements. We are calling this Fellowship Golf and it is available NOW. (See why you should Join Fellowship Golf here). The way the data is assembled also enables participants to find other liverymen at their home club and to find which clubs have livery members and how to contact those members. Your neighbour might even be a golfing liveryman.
Square Mile Golf Society is collating key information of Liverymen who are interested in participating and their golf clubs. We already have key information about 300+ golf clubs in the Home Counties (and a few well-known regional courses).
Blending and sharing this data will be compliant with personal data rules, provided your Livery is a subscribing member of Square Mile Golf. Participation in Fellowship Golf remains free in 2026 while we build up membership and ensure simplicity of functionality. SMiGS does NOT aim to make a profit and any amount surplus to our operating needs will be donated (see our philanthropy commitment in our Vision).

If we get sufficient support, we will look at the possibility of running prizes for those who report on rounds played. A report form is available on club spond. Fellowship Golf is available to all Liverymen and Freemen. If you are uncertain whether your Livery is a subscribing Livery email us at squaremilegolf@cityliveryclub.com.
